Frequently Asked Questions |
- What is Dewatering?
Dewatering is
the temporary removal of ground water to enable contractors
to construct buildings, roadways, install utilities
and create lakes and ponds.
- What type of Dewatering do you
specialize in?
We
specialize in the installation of "sock" drain
tubing.
- What is a "sock?"
A sock is a
corrugated plastic tubing with holes, surrounded by a filter
fabric (the "sock"). The tubing is installed into the ground
with a trencher. It collects ground water which is
evacuated by means of a well-point pump.

- What is the advantage of sock
dewatering over other dewatering technologies (such as well points)?
Sock dewatering
tubing is installed completely below ground, out of
the way of your construction. We can place the tubing
exactly where needed for your project. If the ends of
the tubing are preserved, the work area can be dewatered in
the future, if necessary, for required repairs to previously
installed utility lines, etc. |
